Incidence of Trichothecene Mycotoxin Producing Fungi in Oil Seed Cakes

Incidence of trichothecene producing fungi in feed cakes (groundnut cake and sesamum cakes) commonly used in Andhra Pradesh was determined by employing dilution plate and blotter techniques. These cakes supported species of Fusarium, Stachybotrys atra, Myrothecium roridum, Trichoderma viride and Trichothecium roseum which varied in percentage of incidence. The toxigenic potential of individual isolates varied and they elaborated variety of mycotoxins.
