Groundnut hulls (GNH) and cotton seed hulls (CSH) were evaluated in sheep and goats. The DMI was significantly (P<0.01) higher in sheep, but the digestibility and nutritive value were higher in goats. The GNH had 1162 and 1.99% DCP and 34.47 aad 38.42% TDN, respectively in Iheep and goats. The CSH Sad no DCP but the values for TDN weee 66.66 and 60.44%, respectively in sheep and goats. Feeding of CSH significantly (P<0.01) increased the microbial nitrogen and TVFA concentration over GNH feeding in both the species. The high sodium concentration in the rumen liquor of goats over sheep might be responsible for better fibre digestibility in goats than sheep.
