Growth Performance of Calves Reared by Feeding Milk vis-a-vis Ndri and Hpkv Milk Replacers

Eighteen newly born Jersey and Jersey x Red Sindhi calves were reared by feeding milk (T₁) vis-a-vis NDRI (T₂) and HPKV (T₃) milk replacers upto 90d of age. The respective body weight gains were 36.82±2.10, 28.20±2.70 and 33.31±2.30 kg which were observed to be sigaiticantly higher (P<9.05) both under T₁ and T₃ groups as compared to that of T₂ group. The cost of calf rearing upto 90d was in descending order with conventional (milk), NDRI and HPKV milk replacers feeding viz., Rs. 1740.59, Rs. 1354.90 and Rs. 1331.61.
