In vitro total gas, methane production and DM and OM degradabilities of five concentrates were determined by incubating Ig substrate at 39° C. Concentrates comprised of deoiled rice bran (DORB) and deoiled groundnut cake (DGNC) in 60:40 ratio (T1), DORB and expeller DGNC in same ratio (T2), DORB and DGNC in the same ratio with addition of 2.2% (T3), 4.4% (T4), and 6.6% (T5) acid oil. Total gas production was 209.25 and 202.25 ml/g substrate/24h in T1 and T2 and decreased significantly (P<0. 05) on addition of acid oil. Average methane production (ml/g/24h) significantly (P<0.05) decreased from 15.13 (T1) to 10.67 (T5). Methane: Carbon dioxide proportion ranged between 4.22:95.78 (T4 and T5) to 5.52:94.48(T1). DM and OM degradability varied from 76.88 (T3) to 89.67 (T1) and 77.93 (T3) to 81.73 (T2), respectively. DM and OM degradabilities of T1 and T2 were similar whereas that of T3, T4 and T5 were lower (P<0.05). Results Indicate that addition of 2.2 4.4 and 6.6% acid oil in concentrates reduced the in vitro total gas and methane production alongwith DM and OM degradability.
