Abstract

The study was conducted on 12 buffalo heifers, divided into 3 groups coasisting of 4 animals in each. The animals were fed standard ration. Buffalo calves of groups 2 and 3 were subjected to 1/2 and 3/4 resection of reticulum. After a month of feeding, digestibility trial was carried out. There was no significant difference in DM intake, nutrient utilization and mineral balances, except significantly (r<0.05) lower values of crude protein digestibility in groups 2 and 3 and slight depression in blood TWA in these groups. There was no significant difference in the digestibility figures of crude protein in 1/2 and 3/4 reticulum resected animals.
