The NZW rabbits were fed in two phases (12 and 18 wks) diet containing three levels of protein (13, 16 and 20% CP) and two levels of energy (56–58 and 60–62%TDN). Dietary protein and energy levels significantly influenced the DM intake. Higher DMI per unitof body size was observed in young rabbits compared to adults. Both age and energy density in the compound feed influenced nutrient utilization.
