Conventional and unconventional supplements like rock phosphate, gypsum, dicaicium phosphate, paper mud waste, lime sludge, kharia mitti etc. collected from different sources were analysed for phosphorus, flourine and acid insoluble ash. The rock phosphate contained moderate levels of P (4.99%), high level of F (1.92%) and very high level of AIA (9.41%) and super phosphate contained high levels of P (8.81%) and F (1.05%) but low level of AIA (1.79%). The other screened materials contained either negligible amounts of P or high contents of AIA which restricts their use for supplementation in mineral mixtures. Three samples of mineral mixtures collected randomly from market also showed higher amounts; of F and AIA i.e. from 0.12 to 0.17% and 2.69 to 5.12% respectively which indicated the use of highly flourinated phosphatic supplements in mineral mixture.
