Guinea grass (Panicum maximum) was fed ad libitum to 4 Murrah calves for its nutritional evaluation. The intake of DM was 74.8 g/Kg W0.75/d. The grass contained 3.89% DCP, 56.22% TDN and 2.02 Meal ME per kg DM and the mean Intake of these nutrients was 2.91 g, 42.08 g and 151 Kcal/kg W0.75 respectively. It was concluded that guinea grass as a sole source of feeding can not meet the requirements of Murrah calves.
