The proximate principles, cell-wall constituents, Ca and P contents of undecorticated sunflower cake were estimated. Nitrogen solubility was determined in McDougall's buffer and autoclaved rumien liquor. Insacco disappear-ance of DM and CP was slso estimated in fistulated cattle. The sunflower cake contained DM 91.19±0.59, CP 26.75±0.79, CF 25.32±0.62, EE 6.37±0.23, NFE 27.50±0.58, total ash 14.06±0.2a, NDF 39.90±0.56. ADF 26.90±0.33, cellulose 17.60±0.20, hemicellulose 13.00±0.47, lignin 8.15±0.13, calcium 1.53±0.03 and phosphorus 0.34±0.02%. The solubility (%) of nitrogen was 54.43±1.98 and 50.24±1.82 in McDougall's buffer solution and autoclaved rumen liquor, respectively. The in sacco disappearance of DM was 61.47±0.23 and 67.93±0.40 at 24 and 48 h, respectively. DM disappearance was lower in sunflower cake at any hour of incubation in comparison to mustard cake. The effective degradability of N ut rumen flow rate of 0.05/h was 68,45%- in sunflower cake and 77.50% in mustard cake. The potential degradability values (%) were 95.97 and 92.01 in respective cakes. RDN and UDN (g/100 g DM) contents were 2.93 and 1.35, respectively in sunflower cake.
