Thiocyanate feeding (100mg/kg b.wt/d) with ind without addition of colloidal iodine (0.06mg/d) In rabbits for 20 d had no signiflcant effect on the weights of liver, brain, kidney and spleen. Intake of thiocyanate caused hypertrophy of thyroid gland, produced disappearance of colloidal mass and marked hyperplacia of the epithelial cells. Supplementation of thiocyanate alongwith colloidal iodine warded off the goitrogenic effects.
