Status of Certain Blood Metabolites, Hormones, Biogenic Amines and Their Impact on Production in Healthy and Indigestion Cases of Lactating Murrah Buffaloes

Studies were conducted on 144 cllnical cases and 120 healthy control of lactating Murrah buffaloes. Blood samples analysis for glucose, urea, SGOT, SGPT, T₃, T₄, and biogenic amines revealed significantly higher (P<0.01) differences in ail clinical cases as compared to healthy control except in T₃ and T₄. Significantly high (P<0.05) differences except for SGOT were also observed when tested seasonwise. The sick animals came to normal rumination after 4 to 12 h and to normal milk production after 12 to 96 h of radical treatment and supportive therapy.
