Abstract

Sixteen crossbred male Iambs (6.60±0.39m), divided Into 4 equal groups, were fed on standard (T1), deoiled mahua seed cake, DMSC (T2), ferrous sulphate (T3) and formaldehyde treated DMSC containing concentrate mixture (T4) with wheat straw ad lib and 200g green fodder/d/animnl, for 90 d followed by a metabolism trial. There was no significant difference in growth rate and DM intake indifferent groups. The digestibility of CP was significantly (P<0.05) higher in T1 as compared to remaining groups. Balances of nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus were positive and similar in all the groups. Raw and clean wool production did not differ significantly in different groups, hut highest density and pure fibre percentage was recorded in group T3. Microscopical examination of vital organs did not show degenerative change in FDT-DMSC group.
