Abstract

Composite straw samples from 6 varieties of paddy grown under uniform agro-climatic conditions were analysed for CP, NDF, ADF, cellulose and hemicel-lulose prior to and after their incubation (nylon bags) in rumen of fistuiated animals. CV in varieties tested, varied from 3.4 to 6.2%, whereas, the in sacco OM digestibility varied between 52.7 and 62.5%, and were positively correlated (r = +0.56). Among the paddy straw varieties tested, saket-4 was the bess and contaaned 5.86% CP, 4.95% llgnin and 62.55% OM digestibility.
