Nutritional Evaluation of Black Gram Straw (Phaseolus Mungo) in Hurrah Heifers

Black gram (Phaseolus mungo) straw was fed ad-libitum to four Murreli heifers for its nutritional evaluation. The intake of DM was 80.32g/kg w^0.75. The straw contained 4.36% DCP, 40.24% TDN and 1.45 Meal ME per kg DM, and the mean intake of these nutrients was 3,50g, 32.33g and 116.32 kcal/kg w^0.75, respectively. Nitrogen balance was negative. Sole source of feeding cannot meet the nutrient requirements of Murrah heifers.
