Abstract

Eight adult male buffaloes were divided in two groups of 4 animals in each. Group 1 was offered UMMB in the form of lick and wheat straw ad lib. In group II, contemplated quantity of UMMB soaked and dissolved in water was mixed with wheat straw, before offer. Green sorghum was supplied in satii group @ 200 g DM/100 kg body weight to meet out the carotene requirement. There was no ssgnificant difference in DM intake between groups. Drinking water (including the water added in sani) Intake was significantly (P<0.05) higher in UMMB group i3.87±0.56 1/d) as compared to sani group (2.98±0.011/d) per unit of DM intake. Digestibility coefficients of DM, OM, EE, CF and NDF were higher in sani group. Highly significant (P<0.01) differences were observed In nitrogen intake and balance between the groups.
