Protein utilization was studied in broilers offered ten isocaloric (290© Kcal ME/kg) andisonitrogenous (23% CP) diets containing differentlevels (2.0,2.5,3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5%) offish meal protein(FMP). Retention of protein was higher (P<0.05) in broilers fed 6.0% FMP diet. Protein efficiency ratio (PER) was maximum In groups fed diets containing 6.5% FMP during first, second and fourth week and 4.5% FMP during third week. Cumulative PER for four weeks was also maximum in broilers, alloted diet containing 6.0% FMP. Body weight gain of broilers offered 6.5% FMP diet was highest but statistically similar with those fed 6.0% FMP diet. Most efficient protein utilization was observed in broilers offered 23% CP diet containing 6.0% FMP along with vegetable protein supplement.
