Twelve crossbred female calves (90 kg) were divided into two groups of six each. Calves in group I and II were fed concentrate mixture containing RDP: UDP in ratio of 65: 35 and 50:50, respectively along with para grass for a period of 203 days. Average daily body weight gain in group I and II was 355 and 394g, respectively and variation between the groups was non- significiant. There was also no significant difference in the DM intake, digestibility of nutrients and N balance between the groups, suggesting that providing additional quantity of UDP to calves has no beneficial effect on growth rate and nutrient utilization.
