Thirty three Gaddi Merino lambs (7d), randomly distributed into four groups of 8, 9, 8, and 8 with similar sex ratio, were fed on isocalorlc creep rations with different levels of CP (21.0, 17.7, 14.5, 11.2%) along with ryegrass hay apart from milk upto 90d. DMI through milk, hay and creep was not affected by level of protein among groups. Improved feed efficiency at low CP level (11.2%) indicated better utilisation of dietary protein. Milk intake was positively and significantly (P<0.01) related with lamb growth, however, feed DMI was not related with milk intake. Creep rations containing 11.2% CP was optimal for economical raising of lambs during preweaning stage.
