Nine male adult Murrah buffaloes fitted with rumen fistula were divided into three groups of 3 animals in each and fed on about 60 kg berseem (group I), 45 kg berseem+2.25 kg molasses (group II) and 30 kg berseem+4.5 kg molasses (group HI). DM and OM consumption did not vary among groups whereas, CP Intake was significiantly decreased (P<0.01) in groups II and III. Digestibility coefficient of DM, OM and CP was significantly higher (P<0.01) in group HI followed by II and I. Balance of N was positive in all the groups. Mollr percentage of acetic acid in rumen liquor was significantly higher in group I than in other groups. Molar percentage of propionic acid, TWA concentration (mM/1 SRL) and TVFA production (moles/d) were significantly higher (P<0.01) in group IH than In other groups.
