Adult fish, Channa punctatus (Bloch) were exposed to zinc concentrations ranging from 20–90 mg/1 at different pH and temperature regimes. Mortality of fish was recorded at regular intervals upto 96 hrs. At pH 7 and 30°C the LC 50 vvlue was 56.25 mg Zn/1 and at 20°C it was 84.92 mg Zn/1. For fish maintained at pH 6 and 30°C, the LC 50 value was 46.50 mg Zn/1. It thus, indicated greater mortality at an acidic pH and 30°C temperature.
