Cotton seed cake (CSC), wheat straw and green fodder or locally available grass, each constituting about one third of the total ration (DM basts) are fed to majority of the buffaloes in the villages of Hisar district. Zn (20-40ppm), in most of the feed items and Mn (6–12 ppm) was lower in cotton seeds, CSC and bajrn grains. Buffaloes in general, were in short supply of certain essential mineral like zinc and manganese (40 to 50%) and supply of copper was three times than its requirements.
