Abstract

Green pea (Pisum Sativum) fodder was nutritionally evaluated in rabbits (24 m; 2.03±0.04 kg). The pea fodder contained DM 11.80, OM 87.10, CP 17.38, CF 24.19, EE 2.52, NFE 43.01, TA 12.90, Ca 2.20, P 0.30 percent and GE 4.02 Kcal/g. Voluntary intake of pea fodder on sole feeding was 4.14±0.20 percent of body weight or 49.52±2.56 g/kg W0.75. The digestibility coefficients of DM, OM, CP, CF, EE and NFE were 80.08±0.95,79.24±1.12, 81.64±0.81, S7.43±2.95, 61.36±1.46 and 89.11±0.72 percent, respectively. The animals were in positive balance of N, Ca and P. DCP, TDN and DE values of pea fodder were 14.99±0.25. 71.54±1.10 percent and 3.1.4±0.04 kcal/g. The intake of DM, DCP, TDN, DE, Ca and P were sufficient to meet maintenance needs of adult rabbits.
