Four experimental diets with two levels of protein i,e. 100 and 75 percent DCP and two levels of energy expressed as TDN i,e. 10® and 75 percent of NRC (1981) recommendation for 50 g daily gain were fed to four groups of male crossbred (Beetal X Assam local) kids for a period of 90 days. Average dally body weight gain in group I, H, III and IV fed on 100:100, 100:75; 75:100 and 75:75 percent DCP and TDN, was 60, 31, 52 and 22 g, respectively. Higher (P<0.01) feed to gain ratio was observed in low energy fed groups (II and IV). Nutrient utilization was highest in group I and lowest in group IV however, feed conversion efficiency showed the reverse trend.
