Thirty crossbred (Med Dane x Haryana) milch cows with milk yield of 8-14kg/head/d were divided into 2 comparable groups and kept under loose system at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) dairy farm. Each group was offered seasonal green fooder @30-35kg/head/d besides concentrate mixture to meet the total requirement of nutrients. Uromin licks @ one brick/animal/week were offered only to the experimental group, as an additional source of nitrogen and minerals. Over a period of 5 months, the total milk per cow/d was reduced by 34.6% in the control and 29.7% in the experimental group, thus showing a net increase of 4.9%milkas a result of the supplementation of ration with uromin lick. Similarly, the body weights recorded at fortnightly intervals showed that the experimental group faired better besides maintaining good health.
