Abstract

Barn (Sorghum halepense))rass st flowering stage was fed dd libitum to 4 Murrain heifers (27-28m; 232.48+11.60kg) for its nutritional evaluation. DM intake was 94.27g/kg W0.75. The grass contained 4.33%DCP, 63.49% TDN and 2.29 Meal ME per kg DM, and the mean daily intake of these nutrients was 4.08g, 59.85g and 215,46Kcal/kg W0.5, respectively. N balance was positive. It was concluded that Baru grass at flowering stage can meet the nutrient requirments of Murrah heifers.
