Sweet potato (Ipomoea botatus L.) and Kachu (Colocasia esculenta L.) tubers were offered ad- libitum to 8 uncastrated male pigs (52.50±6.84kg) divided in two groups (T1 and T2) or 4 animals each. The DM intake (kg/100 kg B.W.) was 4.07±0.34 and 1.99±1.07 in groups T1 and T2 respectively. Digestibility coefficients of DM, CP, EE, CF and % N retention were higher (P<0.05))n group T1 than in T2. The DCP intake was too low in both the groups, howeeer, TDN intake was more than sufficient in both the groups and significantly (P<0.05) higher in group T1. The pigs gained weight in group T1 whereas itlost ingroup T2 Sweet potato proved to be utilized more efficiently than colocasia tubers in pigs.
