Abstract

Eighty, day old broiler chicks were fed for 6 weeks on rations namely Tl having maize and T2, T3 T4 & T5 in which sorghum replpced maize at 40, 60, 80 and 100% levels. Weight gain was higher (P<0.05) in groups fed T1 diet. However, FER and PER were higher (P<0.05) in broilers fed T2 diet. Performance index was maximum in broilers fed on diet T1 while, most economical weight was attained by broilers fed on diet T2. It was concluded that sorghum can replace 40 percent of maize.
