Abstract

Two rumen fistulaied crossbred adult cattle were fed individually on four diets: 1,8 kg wheat bhusa (WB) + 6 kg sorghum (S) +1 kg concentrate (C); II, 28 kg S+ 1.5 kgC; III, 35 kg S + 200g Sodium Bicarbonate (Bic) and TV, 35 kgS + 450 Bic. Rumen fluid prion concentrate diets was significantly (P<.01) lower than on bicarbonate supplemented diets. Total nitrogen and NH3-N fractions were significantly higher on concentrate supplemented diets. However, NPN and TVFA dad’ not differ significantly. The rumen pH was negatively correlated with total-N (r-0.76**), NH-3N (r =-0.84**), NPN (r=-0.57*) and TVFA (r = -0.55*).
