Abstract

Effect of supplementation of different levels of livql viz 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 mg on oats fodder, concentrate mixture apd concentrate mixture plus oats fodder (40: 60) were investigated on in vitro rumen fermentation. There was no change in NH3-N due to supplementation of various livol levels. However, livol at 60 mg supplementation level resulted in increased TVFA concentration (P<0.05) as compared to control. The TVFA concentration (mmole/100ml incubation media) with respect to different substrates was significantly higher (P<0.01) on oats + concentrate (5.71 ± 0.29) as compared to concentrate (4.12±0.11). IVDMD was increased in concentrate + oats due to livol supplementation.
