Treatment of mustard cake (expeller pressed) with 2% CuSO4 solution @ 50 ml/100g reduced its glucosinolate content by 38 percent without influencing its CP content. Ten crossbred (Alpine X Beetal) kids of uniform age (3m) and body weight (15.3 kg) divided in two equal groups, were fed on concentrate mixture along with available green fodder ad lib. In concentrate mixture untreated and treated mustard cake were incorporated at 30 parts keeping all other ingredients in similar proportion. Treatment of mustard cake did not affect N utilization in kids. In another experiment, effective DM and CP degradabiiities of untreated, CuSO4 treated and solvent extracted mustard cake were estimated using nyloue bag technique. RDP content of untreated, treated and solvent extracted cakes was 22.82,23.70 and 26.96 and corresponding value of UDP content was 14.11, 13.22 and 11.66 percent. It was concluded that processing of mustard cake may affect the CP degradability marginally but its utilization was not affected significantly.
