An experiment involving 180, three-d-oid broiler chicks was conducted to study the effects offish meal (FM) quality on fish meal protein (FMP) requirement of broilers. Five diets containing 6.0,6.5,7.0,7.5 or 8.0% FMP using two different qualities of FM were randomly assigned to two groups of 9 chicks each for 4 weeks period. Weight gain and performance index (PI) were maximum in broilers offered 6.5% FMP diet using either of the FM. It was therefore concluded that irrespective of the quality of FM, 6.5% FMP is the optimum level for broilers diet along with groundnut cake as vegetable protein supplement.
