Nutritional Evaluation of MP Chari (Sorghum bicolor) Forage in Murrah Heifers

MP Chad (Sorghum bicolor) forage was fed ad libitum to 4 Murrah heifers for its nutritional evaluation. The DM intake was 66.57 g/kg W^0.75/d. The forage contained 4.70% DCP, 56.20% TDN and 2.02 Mcal ME per kg DM and the mean intake of these nutrients was 3.12 g, 37.37g and 134.59 Kcal/kg W^0.75/d, respectively. It was concluded that MP Chari forage, as the sole source of feed could fulfil the maintenance requirements of heifers.
