The availability of feeds and fodders in different seasons and the nutritional status of buffaloes maintained by landless, marginal, small, medium and large farmers in Faizabad district was assessed. The average green fodder, dry fodder and concentrate fed round the year was22.24,6.25 and 1.09 kg/h/d. However, their availability varied significantly (P<0.01) between seasons. Small and medium farmers supplied maximum (22.99 kg/h/d) green fodder viz. Berseem, Chari, Maize and Sudan hybrid. Maximum (26.14 kg/h/d/) green fodder was supplled in winter and lowest (11.97 kg/h/d) in summer season. The average DCP, TDN and DM supplied throughout the year to the animals averaged 0.58±0.03, 6.45±0.16 and 12.15±0.25 kg/h/d, respectively. Nutrient supplled to the dairy animals varied significantly between seasons and between categories except TDN supplied in marginal farmers only. The DCP and TDN requirements of the animals could be supplied completely irrespective of categories of farmers.
