Abstract

Bamboo leaves were fed as a sole feed to 4 crossbred calves (Red Sindhi x Jersey) with an average body weight 194.50±4.48 kg. Voluntary DMI/100 kg body weight was 2.64±0.005 kg/day and digestibility coefficients for DM, CP, EE, CF, NFE, NDF and ADF were 56.80±5.19, 57.15±4.65, 36.75±5.03, 49.55±5.34, 59.59±5.88.50.47±6.21 and 43.23±5.90 respectively. The DCP and TDN contents were 7.49 and 49.69 per cent on dry matter basis.
