Abstract

Fluorine ingestion by the adult crossbred animals (HF x Kankrej, 2–3 yr) through feeds, fodder and drinking water ranged from 230 to 310 rag/d. Feeds and fodders contained normal level of fluorine (8 to 21 ppm). BSood serum and urrnary fluoride levels were in the range of 0.24 to 0.67 ppm and 4.04 to 11.50 ppm, respectively. Dietary fluorine intake was correlated (P<0.01) with blood serum concentrations (r=0.96) and urinary levels (r=0.65). Thus, it is concluded that dietary intake has direct bearing on the health of the animal.
