Comparative degradation ability of mimosine and DHP in rumen of cattle and buffalo was investigated in vitro. Mimossne degradatton to DHP was 81.26 and 89.52 per cent in cattle and buffalo, respectively. Based on the higher (P<0.05) mimosine concentration in incubating medium of cattle than that of buffalo and similar DHP concentration after 24 h incubation it could be inferred that buffalo has higher ability for rurainal degradation of mimosine and DHP.
