Abstract

Decorticated deoiled double toasted cotton seed cake (DDDTCSC) incorpo-rated at 0, 7, 14, 21 and 28 per cent tevell so the first experiment and the DDDTCSC at 28 per cent level by supplementing the lysine and ferrous sulphate in second experiment were used in broiler diets on isonitrogenous and isocaloric basis. Significant (P<0.01) growth depression occurred in broilers at 28 per cent at 6 wk of age, but similar trend was not observed at 8 wk age. However, feed intake and feed efficiency were lower in28 per cent DDDTCSC fed broilers compared to other diets, tot when the source was supplemented with lysine, weight gain and feed efficiency were improved. The cost of production per kg live weight over feed cost remained sitnilar with the addition of lysine and ferrous sulphate to 28% DDDTCSC diet. Livability of broilers was not affected by DDDTCSC at any levell
