Abstract

Rice straw leftover (RL) by goats were supplemented either with Leucaena leucocephala hay (RLL) or roncentrate mixture (RLC))nd fed to adult Barbari bucks. Fresh rice straw plus concentrate mixture (RSC) was fed as a control diet. Supplementation of heucaena hay improved the DMI (g/kg W0.75) of straw left over and digestibility of cell-wall fractions (NDF/ADF) of diet but it depressed (P<0.05) CP digestibilty of RLL. However, intakes of digestible DM and TDN (g/kg W0.75) by goats on RLL and RSC diets was comparable and higher (P<0,01) than the corresponding values of RLC. it was Inferred that nutrient deficiencies so RL can be alleviated through leucaena hay supplementation.
