Dry matter (DM) and neutral cleterget fibre (NDF) degradability (rate and extent) ofrange grasses (Cenchrus ciliaris, Heteropogon contortus;Sehima nervosum) and ra nge legumes (Stylosanthes hamata, Atylosia scarabaeoids, Lablad purpureas) were determined in rumen fistualted male cattle. In situ DM and NDF disappearance for range legumes were higher (P<0.0S) than those for grasses. However, the extent of DM disappearance was lower in legumes than In grasses. The rate of DM and NDF disappearance was higher (P<0.05) in legumes than in range grasses.
