Effect of Autoclaving and Supplementation of Enzyme or Yeast Culture on Feeding Value of Little Millet for Broilers

Total replacement of maize with little millet (Panicum miliars) in broiler ration reduced weight gain (27%), feed consumption (18%) and feed efficiency (13%) without affecting balance of nutrients. Inclusion of autoclaved little millet (LM) at 40% level improved feed consumption over the diet containing 40% raw LM, however, the ME and balance of nutrients were not improved. Supplementation of multienzymes (500g/ton) significantly (P<0.05) improved feed efficiency and balance of P, whereas feed consumption was improved in 40% LM diet. Use of Yeast culture @ l00g/00kg (Yeasacc 1026 - Saccharomyces cerevisiae) in broiler ration containing 40% LM and control also brought about significant improvement in growth rate, feed efficiency and balance of P.
