Abstract

An in vitro experiment was conducted to study the effect of different levels of pure triglycerides (triolein) on pH, TVFA, NH3-N, molar proportions of volatile fatty acids, IVDMD, total protozoa and bacterial population. Wheat straw and concentrate mixture (60:40) were mixed and supplemented with 0,2,4,6,8 and 10% of pure triglyceride (triolein). The peak IVDMD, NH,-N, TVFA production and bacterial & protozoal counts were observed at 6% level of tryglycerlde inclusion under in-vitro conditions.
