Abstract

Sixteen Angora weaners (German x Russian) were divided in two groups of eight each. Group 1 was fed on a standard diet whereas group 2 was fed on a diet in which maize (19), wheat bran (4) and rice-polish (8) of standard diet were substituted by barley (11) and rice-pltak (20) in a nine months feeding trial. Body weights at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shearing were higher (P<0.05) in group 1 and totaa wooo yield, nutrient digestibility and balances of N, Ca and P were reduced significantly (P<0.05) in group 2. Nutritive value of experimental diet was also reduced with rice-phak incorporation. It is concluded that rice-phak at 20% level along with 11% barley do not form a successful replacementof maize+wheat bran+rice polish in the feeding regime of Angora rabbits.
