Feeding Of'White Clover (Trifolium repens) Hay in Angora Rabbits

Eighteen weaners German Angora (56d), divided into three similar groups om body weight and sex basis, were fed on pelleted feed 120 (T₀); 190 (T₁) and 8O g/d (T₂). White clover hay was supplemented in groups T₁ and T₂ to make all the rations isonitrogenous. Local grass hay was fed ad lib. to all lhe groups during the experiment of 217 d thereafter a 6 d metabolism trial was conducted. DMI and digestibilties of DM, CF and NFE were similar among groups, however ‘ digestibilities of OM, CP, EE N-retention and wool yield were significantly (P<0.05) higher in groups T₀ and T₁ than in T₂. The study revealed that replacement of 20 g pelleted feed by white clover hay reduced the feed cost (12.41%) without any adverse effect on body weight and performance of Angora rabbits.
