Utilization of the Mixture of Rice (Oryza sativa) and Marua (Eleusine coracana) Fermented Waste in Pig Grower Ration

Rice (Orzya sativa) and marua (Eleusine caracana) fermented waste was incorporated in the diet of growing pig (Tamwoth x Desi) at 0,10,20 and 30 per cent level replacing wheat bran. In feeding experiment of 91 days, DM intake, nutrient intake and live weight gain did not differ significantly among groups. Digestibility of nutrients, balance of nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus, nutritive values and teed: gain ratio varied among groups within a narrow range. Cost Incurred on one kg live weight gain was least for the diet containing 30% fermented waste (P<0.05). It was concluded that rice and mania fermented waste may be included in the ration of growing pigs upto 30% level profitably without any apparent harmful affect.
