In saccp nylon bag disappearance of DM, OM and cell wall of wheat straw and cotton after 24 and 48 hours of incubation in rumen of cattle fed concentrate without BCFA (T1), with 0.75% BCFA (T2) and BCFA (0,75%) with urea (T3) were studied. The DM disappearance of wheat straw after 24 and 48 hours was significantly (P>0.01) higher on BCFA supplemented diets (T2 and T3) as compared to control (T1) and the values were 31.68, 39.87, 38.79 and 42.31, 49.45, 49.80 percent respectively for T1, T2 and T3 diets. However, the DM disappearance between T2 and T3 was similar. The trends of OM and cell wall disappearance at both incubation periods on all diets were similar to that of DM. Similarly, in sacco disappearance of cotton fibres after 24 and 48 hours of incubation was significantly (P<0.01) higher in treatments T2 and T3 compared to control (T1). The results indicated that the in sacco DM, OM and cell wall nylon bag degradability (24 and 48 hours) of wheat straw and cotton was higher in rumen environment of animals fed sodium salt of isobutyric acid.
