Abstract

An experiment was conducted with 84 broilers fed on a diet supplemented with vitamin A at 0, 4500, 8500 and 12500 IU per kg diet in a Randomised Block design from Ist day to 6 week age. The basal diet contained 22.4% CP, 2900 Kcal/kg ME and 1495 IU/kg vitamin A. Significant (P≤0.05) increase in concentrations of liver vitamin A and decrease in serum uric acid were observed due. to vitamin A supplementation at higher levels (4500, 8000 and 12500 IU/kg). Highest level (12500 IU/kg) of vitamin A supplementation increased (P≤0.05) the weight of spleen in chicks.
