In vitro studies were carried out to find out the effect of different levels of niacin supplementation viz 0, 50, 100, 200, 300 and 400 ppm of substrate on rumen fermentation pattern and dry matter digestibility (IVDMD). Rumen fermentation of substrate comprising of wheat straw and concentrate mixture (60:40) indicated that supplementation of 400 ppm of niacin reduced NH3-N and increased TVFA concentration (P<0.05), TCA-ppt N and molar proportion of propionate (P<0.01) in the incubation medium than those recorded at other levels of niacin. Though niacin supplementation enhanced IVDMD but the variability among different levels was non significant.
