Abstract

Blood samples were collected from Nili-Ravi heifers, lactating and advanced pregnant buffaloes showing various reproductive disorders like anestrus, repeat breeding and prolapse of uterus. Blood serum, analysed for Ca, P, Mg, Fe, Zn and Cu in all animals having such problems were much above the critical levels and comparable to those of normal animals. This study provides evidence of dietary adequacy of these minerals and indicates that the reproductive problems were due to the causes other than dietary deficiency of any of the minerals studied.
