Abstract

Six adult Black Bengal bucks (av. b.wt. 33.5+2.20 kg) were fed solely on jack fruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) leaves for 21 days, thereafter a digestion trial was conducted. Average dry matter intake was 4.11+0.11% of body weight. DCP and TDN contents of jackfruit leaves were 8.03+0.30 and 59.40+1.40%, respectively. It is concluded that sole feeding of jack fruit leaves can meet the maintenance requirements of goats.
