Nutritive Value of Salyx Tree Leaves for Yaks
Abstract
The DCP and TDN content of salyx (salyxspp) tree leaves were estimated to be 7.06±0.44 and 58.9±1.89 kg/100 kg dry matter in yaks, respectively. Average dry matter intake/100 kg body weight being 2.24±0.26 kg/day without any body weight loss reflected no adverse effect of salyx leaves on palatability and health status of yaks. Salyx tree leaves can be utilized as an alternative feed resource for yaks.
